ManagedPAY has provided peace of mind to businesses in Las Vegas since 1995 by providing them an array services such as Payroll, Human Resources, Risk Management and Insurance Services. This provides their clients increased productivity and profits.
The Situation
Just like ManagedPay does this for their clients, we do the same for them.
ManagedPay greatly relies on a software application named PayChoice. It is difficult to use and they weren’t receiving the technical support they needed. Plus, the version they were using was antiquated and didn’t work well with their updated computer equipment.
ManagedPay wanted to stay with the software for a number of strategic reasons before switching to a newer version. We were instrumental in working with them to find a fix so they could continue to use and maintain this software. The application is DOS-based, but is still being used today. We implemented a terminal services solution to workaround the DOS limitations. At first we used Microsoft technologies, but more recently, we implemented a VMware and HP virtualized environment to keep the software running.
Bill Rosado, President of ManagedPay explained:
“We started working with GDS in 2006. One of the reasons we chose them was because they were familiar with our PayChoice payroll application. We weren’t ready to upgrade to the new version for a number of reasons, and needed to continue running it on our new machines. GDS extended the life expectancy of PayChoice, considerably. Plus they’ve provided us a stable network environment and support system. We couldn’t be happier with the results, or their efforts!”
Today, we provide ManagedPay ongoing Managed IT Services and consulting as they move towards new cloud technologies.
Bill went on to say:
“GDS is our complete outsourced IT department. We rely on them for everything related to technology. When migrating us to the cloud, Jeffrey Bailey from GDS, was extremely proactive. He thought out every step beforehand. Because of this, our transition has been seamless, with virtually no disruptions to our operations.
Every single desktop has the GDS Customer Service Icon displayed on it, so our staff can contact their Help Desk whenever they need upgrades, or have any problems. Plus GDS is always there, even after hours and during holidays. And they are quick to resolve any problems.
The payroll business requires that we produce end-of-year reports. This typically happens over the Christmas holiday. GDS is there for us regardless of the time or day. We have the peace of mind knowing that they are always there.”
