Wayne Gretzky has more talent than just hockey.
OK, maybe the “Great One” is not a brilliant MSP marketing or managed services training professional…but he did say some brilliant that we can take and use in our managed services marketing.
Wayne Gretzky said “A good hockey player plays where the puck is. A great hockey player plays where the puck is going to be.”
Same can be said about MSP marketing “A good MSP provide services to what is current. A great MSP sees the future and puts themselves where that business will be.”
OK, maybe not exactly the same, but you get the point.
This is what Atlanta Medical IT services firm Magnicom did this week – Read their press coverage on MSPNews.com.
Magnicom joined the North Metro Medical Managers Association in Atlanta. Why? Because part of their business is healthcare and they needed to be where the healthcare professional are. They need to be where medical managers are. Do you get it.
Forget about BNI and other leads clubs. They are a complete waste of time for your professional IT services firm. Go where your market is and get involved.
Another great example of this is Carl Fransen at Calgary’s CTECH Group. Carl is an active member in the Calgary Hotels Assocation. Why? Hotels are one of his core specialities. Skate to where the puck is going to be folks. For our American friends…think about the best receivers in football. They run to where the ball is being thrown and don’t stand still waiving their arms saying “Hey I am open”. Don’t believe me…just search here to see all of Carl’s success with Calgary hotel IT support.
