Over the past two years I have been very fortunate to work with MSPU, now SPC International. I have seen a lot of trash talk in the MSP community about Erick and the team plus many great people walk in and out of the doors of the once Garden Grove, California-based leader in the MSP space.
Over the past two years Erick took me under the MSPU wing, helped me get my Ulistic business off the ground and running. He was there when I needed that hand up, and for that, I will always be grateful. I started instructing the marketing track at almost every boot camp across the United States. That was fun and exciting, and I met many great people as a result. Things changed, some people started to interfere, and I lost the passion for this track quickly. However, sensing this, I was moved to the CEO track.
Now, the CEO track was super exciting, and I continued to meet some wonderful people in this role. I was free to share my experiences in running a Calgary MSP for 8 years and a brief stint with another. The CEO track allowed me to express myself in a new light and give back to a community that helped me in so many ways.
Like many great things, it has to come to an end. Ulistic is really taking off, and our team is doing some great work helping IT services providers around the globe sell more, get new business and run highly effective teams and businesses. The last boot camp, in Orange County, was my last with MSPU. I can’t get into saying SPC. I really don’t get what SPC means or even why the name was changed.
We at Ulistic have been testing our own smaller versions of boot camps now for the past couple of months in Toronto. They have been super successful, and my team and I have decided to take it on the road. We are doing another sales focused event in Toronto in October. My good friend Blake from Colorado Computer Support invited me to speak at the Autotask event in Denver, so I said, “Why not? Let’s do one there.” The Denver MSP event is marketing focused. We will wrap up the year in Texas with another MSP Sales Workshop in Houston.
Thanks Erick and the team at MSPU, past and present. I know that over the past few months, my Ulistic commitments haven’t aligned with what you are doing at MSPU, so I wish you continued success as I bid you farewell from this chapter of our friendship and professional relationship. Looking forward to what the future may bring.
