(February 27, 2014)— Procyon Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of IT services and support in Little Rock, is pleased to announce the addition of the Arkansas State Employees Association (ASEA), and the law firm Cox, Sterling & McClure to our client roster.
ASEA is a non-partisan, non-profit, membership-driven association that advocates on behalf of all state employees, and provides exclusive benefits to its members. Their mission is to create a better future for employees and citizens of Arkansas through quality state government.
Procyon Solutions took over ASEA’s IT service and support from another vendor that claimed to manage and monitor their network. However, after our initial visit we discovered several issues with their local server, including a tape backup solution that had not worked for months. If someone had been monitoring this server it appears that no remediation had taken place. Within the first week of working for ASEA, Procyon resolved all their server issues and provided a sound backup of their fileserver. Now ASEA is considering government-pricing options for Office 365 so they can migrate from their on-premise Exchange server.
Cox, Sterling & McClure, PLLC is a full-service law firm in Little Rock. Each of their attorneys has been practicing law in his or her area of focus for more than a decade. Their areas of practice include business litigation, commercial transactions, employment law counseling and litigation, estate planning and probate, and real estate and construction litigation.
The principals at Cox, Sterling & McClure were very skeptical of the cloud and how it might help them. They had a very old file server in place that needed to be rebooted daily. They wanted a solution to remove the server from the network. Upon our initial visit, we quickly set up Office 365 and migrated their email from Google. After the email migration was complete, we quickly set up their Team Site in SharePoint Online and showed them how to upload files from their server to the cloud. After approximately two weeks all their files were copied from the server to SharePoint and the server was decommissioned.
