Smile IT Installs a Complex, Robust and Secure Internet System for Spicers Hiddenvale
When Spicers, an existing client of Smile IT, needed faster, more reliable Internet access at their Hidden Vale property, they turned to Smile IT for help. Located on a country farm in South East Queensland, Spicers Hidden Vale accommodations are comprised of separate and private, elegant cottages totaling 31 rooms in all.
Smile IT installed long-range 4G Nemo Aerials to achieve a high-speed, more reliable Internet service to the property. Using this innovative technology, Smile IT achieved record speeds over a 45km link, taking them from a download speed of 1MB to 25MB and increasing the upload bandwidth from 0.5MB to 8MB.
Using Ubiquiti hardware, Smile IT distributed the Internet throughout the 400-acre property, and created a complex robust and secure wireless mesh where cabling would be nearly impossible and very expensive to achieve.
Smile IT then enabled 16 remote rooms connecting point-to-multipoint back links to the main building which housed the 4G Internet station. This allowed for all their guests to have a seamless Internet connection, as well as the ability to host up to three conferences at once.
Smile IT Continues to Ensure Spicers Has a Secure, Reliable Internet Connection
Smile IT separated the staff and guest networks for security purposes; they can now view what devices are logged onto each access point, how much data they’re consuming, and change their usage methods if needed. They also remotely upgrade software on all their devices, and can now determine which devices are offline from a management point of view.
When IT issues arise, Smile IT provides help-desk services to all of Spicers’ employees. This ensures they always have access to support, regardless of the time of day or nature of the technology-related issues; and that their offices will have access to their mission-critical business applications at all times, without worrying about Internet downtimes.
